DC vs RCB in IPL 2021: RCB’s Harshal Patel extends lead in Purple Cap race, bags two wickets against DC – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowler Harshal Patel has had a wonderful start to IPL 2021. In the first match for RCB in IPL 2021, he returned with 5/27 and has bagged at least two wickets in every match. On Tuesday, against Delhi Capitals, Harshal scalped two more wickets to take his tally to 17 wickets in just six matches, becoming the early leader of Purple Cap.
While Harshal Patel has been in fine form, against Chennai Super Kings, he returned with an unwanted record. Ravindra Jadeja got the better of him, smashing him for 37 runs in the last over of the innings. Until that point, he had a good record, bagging three wickets for 14 runs. That over also cost RCB the match as Virat Kohli & Co lost the match to CSK by 69 runs as they could not recover from that assault.

DC vs RCB in IPL 2021: RCB’s Harshal Patel extends lead in Purple Cap race:
With 17 wickets, Harshal Patel has already equalled his best IPL tally. In IPL 2015, the Gujarat bowler bagged 17 wickets for RCB. But the following years, he wasn’t that effective, bagging only 16 wickets combined in the next few editions of IPL. But he has hit back at his critics this time around with wicket-taking performances.
As for the match against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday, Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first. Thanks to AB de Villiers’s 42-ball 75, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a 172-run target at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
