The right-handed batsman is key to KKR in terms of finishing the innings, a key concern for the two-time champions. Off-late, Eoin Morgan-led KKR has failed to win matches at multiple instances after Russell failed to score big. KKR had roped in Shakib Al Hasan to ease his duties but the latter failed to perform and left out of playing XI.
In IPL 2019, Russell had smacked 510 runs and took 11 wickets in 14 matches but has failed to replicate his batting performance in the last couple of seasons.
