Dabang Delhi beat Patna Pirates- Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: Dabang Delhi defeated a second-string Patna Pirates 26-23 to advance to the playoffs in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 on Thursday, February 17th. Delhi needed atleast a tie to ensure a spot in the playoffs and they managed to clinch a victory to become the third team to enter the playoffs. Dabang Delhi beat Patna Pirates- Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: Despite fielding a second string stride on the mat, Patna Pirates challenged Dabang Delhi throughout the game. Delhi huffed and puffed to finally seal the game. Patna started the game on a good note by taking an early lead, however Delhi catched up the lead and the game wen neck-to-neck with both the teams catching up each other. The first-half ended with the score 14-12, with Delhi taking the narrow lead.

They were leading by four points and just when they smelled an All-out opportunity, their raider Neeraj Narwal was super-tackled by Shubham Shinde. He not only thwarted an all-out oppotunity for delhi but also helped his team reduce the deficit. Patna defenders outshined their raiders throughout the game. They made life difficult for the Delhi raiders. For the three time champions, Shubham Shinde and Sourav Gulia were the stars in the defence as Shine picked up a High 5, while Gulia took 4 tackle points. Mohammadreza Shadloui too was at his usual best picking up 4 tackle points.

However Delhi too employed a good strategy and let the Patna raiders taste their own medicine as veteran Manjeet Chillar and Krishan took a combined tally of 9 tackle points. With five-minutes remaining in the clock, Delhi continued to lead marginally by two points. However Sandeep Narwal was tackled brilliantly and Rohit took a crucial raid point to help Patna level the scores at 23-23 in the dying minutes.

With the win, Delhi is truly on course to seal a top-two finish.
