CWG 2022– India at CWG 2022– Former India captain and current star Virat Kohli posted a tweet on Tuesday where he was seen congratulating the successful Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022. Kohli posted a collage of the Indian contingent that won 61 medals including 22 Gold medals at the CWG in Birmingham after its conclusion on Monday. Virat’s salute to Indian contingent of CWG 2022

Virat posted a special collage of all the athletes that won medals at the CWG 2022 after India won 61 medals in various disciplines. India was the forth successful nation at the CWG in Birmingham as finishing behind Australia, hosts England and Canada.

Virat’s tweet read, “You have brought great laurels for our country. Congratulations to all our winners and the participants of CWG 2022. We are so proud of you. Jai Hind.”

India’s tally of 22 Gold Medals was the fourth best finish for India at CWG after exploits in 2010, 20002 and 2018. Shooting which has been India’s strong point was not part of the CWG 2022 while Neeraj Chopra was missing from the Indian contingent with injury.

Virat congratulated Neeraj Chopra after WAC success

Virat earlier heaped praise on Neeraj Chopra after the star India javelin thrower won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.

The Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj became the second Indian after legendary long jumper Anju Bobby George to win a medal at the world meet. George had won bronze during the 2003 edition in Paris.

“Congratulations @Neeraj_chopra1on winning the silver at the World Athletics Championships. We are proud of you,” Kohli tweeted.

Virat to replicate India’s success at T20 World Cup?

Virat Kohli is back in the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup T20 after resting in the West Indies tour. Virat has been struggling for form in recent times and like the Indian contingent will eye for glory at the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Virat could be set for a vital few days as he tries to get back in form. He has been a crucial member of the Indian squad that has won multiple tournaments in the past. Virta was part of the Indian team that won the 2011 ODI World Cup while he also helped India win the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, which is also India’s last trophy at global stage.
