IPL 2020 : Priyam Garg has overcome all odds to reach big stage like IPL

The young Priyam Garg was always addicted to cricket and he wanted to lap it all. However, his father could not afford a television. Priyam hails from a very humble background. His father is a milk seller and his family had to struggle to ensure he got proper training.

“We couldn’t afford a television at home, so I used to skip studies to watch Sachin Tendulkar at a nearby ‘paanwala’ shop. That was a routine and I faced my father’s ire on a number of occasions. For him, cricket was not a priority,” Garg had told Hindustan Times few months back.

“My father did most of the hard work, he did all the odd jobs that you can imagine… selling milk, driving school vans, loading goods, he ensured that I got a good life. He went through all that just to see me become a cricketer one day. He took me to Meerut and made sure that I got into a decent academy,” Priyam had told in an interview.

But after getting IPL contract with Sunrisers, life changed for Garg. In the IPL auctions in 2019, Garg from a base price of 20 Lakh was picked by SRH for 1.9 Cr and rest is history.
Garg surely justified that huge price tag tonite.
