CSK vs GT: The Indian Premier League 2023 has almost come to an end with the final match being played by the defending champs Gujarat Titans and the four time champions Chennai Super Kings. After the game getting washed out yesterday, the match finally started on Monday. However, the clash between Chennai and Gujarat has been halted several times due to rain today as well with the ground staff doing their best to prepare the field for play. Speaking about the match, CSK won the toss and opted to field first. GT opener Shubman Gill got a reprieve on 3 runs as he punished the CSK bowlers in the field restrictions. However, he was scalped by Ravindra Jadeja as Dhoni completed a quick stumping behind the wickets. Wriddhiman Saha stroked a breezy fifty before he was removed by Chahar. The stand out performer for the home side was Sai Sudharshan as the youngster missed his maiden IPL century by just 4 runs. Skipper Hardik Pandya also remained unbeaten for his 16 runs.
CSK were off colour on the field and allowed a few extra runs, and the bowling was affected by it. Jadeja was brilliant in the first three overs but he too like others was expensive at the end. Deshpande was the most expensive one with the figures of 4-0-56-0! In reply, CSK opener faced two dot balls before he stroked a cracking boundary on the third delivery. As the crowd was roaring for more action, rain played the spoilsport as it pour down at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
