CSK vs DC in IPL 2021 – MS Dhoni vs Rishabh Pant: Rating Delhi Capitals (DC) as the “most dangerous” IPL team of 2021, former Chief Selector MSK Prasad said Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will find it difficult to cope with their opponent that has “match winners from no 1 to 11” when they take them on in Saturday’s match in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

“Delhi Capitals is the most dangerous side in this edition of IPL as the entire team from 1 to 11 are outright match winners. Rishabh Pant is the most attacking batsman who will be keen to establish himself as captain. They have one of the best openers in Prithvi Shaw who I think will be player to watch out this season, alongwith last season highest run getter Shikhar Dhawan. The middle order is tight with the likes of Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane & Marcus Stoinis along with the biggest match winner in captain Rishabh Pant. What a batting order,” MSK Prasad told Insidesport.co in an exclusive interview on Thursday.

The former India chief selector said: “Its a fact that CSK is an ageing team and will find it difficult to compete against their Delhi Counterparts. Most of CSK’s players are not playing competitive cricket in recent time and are likely to find it quite difficult to compete at the top level. DC will start as an outright favourite against CSK on Saturday.”

He further said that if one compares the bowling attack then one would see the huge gap. “Delhi has the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Tom Curren and Anrich Norje as fast bowlers and rje experience Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra. I think this bowling line up has perfect blend of firepower and experience needed to win matches on a conistent basis.”

Earlier, former India player Atul Wassan, who picked Rishabh Pant as Delhi Ranji Trophy captain for the first time told Insidesport.co that the dashing wicketkeeper-batsman Pant will double his batting prowess with captaincy and will flourish for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2021, feels “I picked him as Delhi captain in February 2017 in place of Gautam Gambhir. That created a stir then but I saw him as a potential captain since he was young. Rishabh is a player who is always in the game. Unlike a lot of people believe, he is not a reckless freak. He needs to be given a task or responsibility to accomplish and he does that in style. He is a natural aggressor, someone who likes to dominate the game from the very word ‘go.’ One of the most gifted attacking batsman, Rishabh will flourish both as a batsman as captain as he will not only lead from the front but be involved with the team, carrying its responsibility. There are two sides of Pant. One who destroys the opponent with some out of the box extraordinary cricket… in the process, he gets out sometimes with the wrong shot selections. But there is another facet of his personality which extremely sensible. I saw that in him and I tend to believe that he will be very successful as captain. Though it’s too early to predict, he can be seen as the one for the future,” Atul Wassan told Insidesport.co in an exclusive interview on Friday
