1: IPL 2018: CSK (207/5) vs RCB (205/8)
2018 was the year when CSK were back after serving two years of ban. Dhoni was a man possessed with a mission and he made his intentions very clear from the first game. CSK faced RCB in the latter half of the tournament. The Virat Kohli-led side had posted a huge total of 205. CSK lost four wickets for just 74 runs.
MS Dhoni was in no mood to give in the towel. He got off the blokes from ball one and sent the RCB bowlers on the leather hunt. He sealed the deal with two balls to spare and remained unbeaten on 70 off 34 balls.

2: IPL 2010 final CSK (168/5) vs MI (146/9)
This was a classic match and one of the best examples of Dhoni’s street smartness. All-rounder Kieron Pollard had come it at an opportune time in the run-chase and was ready to tee off. Dhoni though anticipated his moves well in advance. He also set an unconventional field at mid-off. He knew the big hitting West Indian all-rounder liked going straight onto the ground.

Pollard just did that and was out of the bowling of Albie Morkel. MI choked in the run-chase and CSK went on to win its maiden IPL title.
3: IPL 2013 Dhoni singlehandedly finishes things for CSK
Dhoni yet again proved that it’s never over till it is over. The CSK skipper was facing SRH and walked into bat with his team reeling with four wickets. It was a typical Dhoni situation wherein he would thrive most days. SRH wanted his wicket badly, but Dhoni remained unperturbed.
He also tore apart Dale Steyn in the penultimate over for 10 runs and took CSK across the line. The CSK skipper remained unbeaten on 67 off just 37 balls.

4: IPL 2019 When Dhoni lost his cool
This incident took many people by storm and was never expected from Dhoni. During one of the league matches against Rajasthan Royals (RR), the wicketkeeper- batter angrily came from the dugout to speak with the umpires about the decision he thought was not correct. During the closing stages of run-chase, on-field umpire Ulhas Gandhe had signaled a no-ball at the bowler’s end for height.
Bruce Oxenford who was standing at square-leg felt it otherwise and the decision had to be reversed. Dhoni though did not like what he saw and entered the field started arguing with the umpires.

5: Dhoni winning the IPL with 2018
CSK were mocked during mega auctions in 2018 for picking a team with players above 30. They were labeled ‘Dad’s Army. The 40-year-old though knew they had assembled a solid team. True to his words, the team played a champion and calmly went about his business. Veteran players like Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, and Dwayne Bravo delivered the goods and CSK and won the third title.
