Sri Lanka and Ireland played their first-ever bilateral Test series in 2023. It must be mentioned that Ireland are yet to defeat Sri Lanka in any international match. Both SL & IRE faced each other for the first time in the 2007 World Cup.
After that, Sri Lanka and Ireland have been involved in two ODI bilateral series with the Islanders winning it on both the occasions. In the T20 format, SL and IRE have faced each other in the World Cup only. As stated above, Sri Lanka are yet to lose a match against Ireland and have also won all three matches in the 20-over format.
