Most runs in a Test match: For over three decades now, former England skipper Graham Gooch’s record of 456 runs in a single Test match against India at Lord’s stands head and shoulders above the rest of the batters. Second on the list is former Australian skipper Mark Taylor, who scored 426 runs in two innings against Pakistan in Peshawar in 1998. Third on the list is a modern-day batting icon, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, who scored a triple hundred in the first innings and followed it up with a hundred in the second innings against Bangladesh in 2014. Other than Sanga, some other famous names like David Warner, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Sir Donald Bradman also make the list.
