AB de Villiers starts the show and introduced Virat Kohli as one of his best friends and said that he is lucky to call him his friend. The interview starts with AB de Villiers showing an old video, which he used to see with Virat Kohli when they plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
As the interview continues, ABD asks Kohli about how he met his wife Anushka Sharma for the first time. ABD asked, “Let’s get onto something more personal. Something I have never asked you. Your very first meeting with your beautiful wife. How did it go? How did you do it and did it go well?”
Virat Kohli reveals how he met Anushka and how they started dating
Kohli recalls it happened during a shoot after a series in Zimbabwe. Kohli said, “I remembered this was 2013. I was the captain for the Zimbabwe tour and was very excited. My manager comes to me and says there’s an advertisement. Do you want to do it? I was like ya cool. Then he said that you gonna shoot it with Anushka Sharma.”
“Out of nervousness, I didn’t realise how tall she was. So the first thing I told her when I saw her heels was, ‘Didn’t you get anything higher to wear?’ and she was like ‘Excuse me?’ It was so bad, I was so nervous. But then I figured out that she was a normal person and when we got talking I realized our background was so similar. From there on we became friends and then gradually we started dating, it didn’t happen instantly,” he added.
Virat Kohli talks about the worst runner between the wickets
In the virtual interview, AB de Villiers asked Virat Kohli about the ‘worst runner’ between the wickets. Virat Kohli said that it can create controversy but Ab de Villiers insisted Virat to answer the question. Kohli named India’s Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara as the worst runner between the wickets.
“Pujara was run-out in the first innings of Centurion Test and I said, ‘Its OK’, such things happen in cricket, Cheteshwar Pujara played a shot in the second innings and called Parthiv Patel for 3rd run, Pujara himself was running towards the danger end and he got run-out again and that too by a big margin”, said Virat Kohli.
At the end of the interview, AB de Villiers thanked Virat Kohli for his time. ABD said, “Thank you so much for the time, I really appreciate it. Meanwhile, Season 16 of IPL is all set to kick off on March 31 in which defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on 4-time winners Chennai Super Kings. However, RCB will start their campaign against Mumbai Indians on April 2. The match will be played on their home ground M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
