Chennai Super Kings have been named as 2nd most popular sports team on Facebook. As per the data of May 2023, CSK Facebook handle had a total of 30.2 million interactions. They were just behind the popular football team Real Madrid. Behind Chennai are Manchester City, Barcelona and Liverpool. To note, CSK won their record fifth IPL title last month as veteran MS Dhoni yet again stamped his authority in the Indian Premier League.

After winning the IPL, CSK equaled Mumbai Indians’ record for five IPL titles. MS Dhoni who was leading in his 10th IPL final, also drawn level with Rohit Sharma – both men now have five IPL titles as captain. Facing Gujarat Titans for title, CSK were under the pump. However, some decent knocks from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu and particularly Ravindra Jadeja helped the Yellow Army to seal the game in their favour off the final ball.
