Pandit has been one of the big names when it comes to domestic cricket, coaching teams to Ranji titles. In fact, Pandit and Suryakumar enjoy a good bond with the player having delivered for Mumbai under his reign.
Pandit always backed players and most of the players under him flourished. Hence, there is huge respect when it comes to Pandit as coach in the domestic circuit as a hardtask master.

Pandit being appointed as a coach of an IPL franchise is a huge thing for the league. At a time when most of the team prefer to have a foreigner at the helm of things, it is a welcome move and a good thing for Indian coaches going forward.
