The two clubs played a wonderful seven-goal match in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League. The second game of the semis will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu and the game promises to be a belter. Karim Benzema scored two goals to bring the tie to a respectable scoreline of 4-3 after the Spanish side was left battered and humiliated in the opening 35 minutes of the game.

The major controversy of the game took place in the second half of the match when Real Madrid was awarded a penalty after the ball was seen hitting the arm of Aymeric Laporte. As Real Madrid’s skipper Karim Benzema stepped up to take the kick he was targetted with a green laser from the City supporters.

But the laser that was pointed toward Karim Benzema had no effect on the French striker. He calmly dispatched the ball with a delicate Panenka kick to score the third goal for his side. Distracting players from taking penalties by targeting the with lasers is common among fans.
Benzema has been having a splendid season where he scored 41 goals in an equal number of games.
