Champions League Final: Ancelotti claims he is still EVERTONIAN – Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Real Madrid’s clash against Liverpool will be a derby for him as he still supports Everton. Ancelotti who guided Real Madrid to the Champions League final, previously managed Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton and was also a resident of the city for two years. Champions League Final: Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says ‘I’m still EVERTONIAN’

Ancelotti’s Merseyside connection – Carlo Ancelotti was most recently the manager of Everton before he took the job at the 13-time European Champions as he quoted, “I lived in Liverpool for two years. It’s like a derby for me, because I am still an Evertonian.”

Ancelotti’s AC Milan famously lost to Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final, before they avenged in a repeat of the final and took revenge by winning 2-0 in the final of 2007.

Champions League Final: Real Madrid shares his love for Everton

The only manager to reach FIVE Champions League finals – Carlo Ancelotti will take charge of his fifth Champions League final on May 28 against Liverpool, most by any manager in the history. He has won the title on three occasions while losing only once in 2005. He also famously won the competition as a player with AC Milan and is already a legend in the game with his accomplishments.

Ancelotti’s vast experience in the English game – Before managing Everton in England, Carlo Ancelotti was previously manager of Chelsea where he won the Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010. Unfortunately, his second season didn’t go according to plan and, was sacked by Chelsea in 2011. He then took roots at PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli, before taking the Everton job.
