- Casper Ruud who had won a title on hard courts earlier this year as he won the Argentina Open. It was his first tournament of the year as he missed the Australian Open due to an injury.
- After a second round exit at Indian Wells Masters, he came back to form at Miami Open, where he finished as runner up after losing the final against Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
- Casper Ruud’s best outing came on clay this year, after managing a scratchy start with a second round exit at Monte Carlo Masters, he reached the quarterfinal at Barcelona Open and Bavarian International.
- He then reached the semifinals at Italian Open and went on to win his second title of the year at the Geneva Open.
- He carried his form into the French Open, where he became the first player from Norway to reach a Grand Slam final. He however lost against Rafael Nadal to finish as runner-up.
- His performances made him rise up to World No.5, and he was the third seed at Wimbledon this year, despite not having gone past the first round at the tournament.
- At the Wimbledon, he bowed out from the second round after losing to uneeded Ugo Humbert in four sets.
- Soon, he won another clay court title at the Swiss Open, where he defeated Matteo Berrettini in three sets in the final.

- Hubert Hurkacz too has had a good season so far. He has won a solitary title at the German Open.
- Hurkacz started the season with a second round exit at the Australian Open. His best performance on hard court was reaching the semifinals at Dubai Tennis Championships and Miami Open .
- He then started the clay court season by reaching the quarterfinal at Monte Carlo Masters and Madrid Open. At Madrid he lost the quarterfinal contest to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
- At the French Open he lost in the fourth round to Casper Ruud in four sets.
- He then started the grass court season by facing a first round defeat at Stuttgart Open. He however bounced backed strongly at the Halle Open, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final to win his first title of the season.
- He however suffered a humiliating first round defeat at Wimbledon against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
- He then bowed out from the first round at Citi Open, where he lost to Emil Ruusuvuori in straight games.
- He has however made a good come back to defeat Nick Kyrgios in the quarterfinal.
Ruud vs Hurkacz Head-to-Head: This will be the second meeting between both the players. In their solitary previous match, they played at Roland Garros this year with Casper Ruud winning the contest in four sets.
