India vs Australia Test series – Mohammed Shami ruled out of the entire test series : India has suffered another blow as Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the entire test series with fracture. Mohammed Shami suffered a nasty blow on his hand and had to walk off during India’s second innings.

The scans reports have confirmed the same. This comes after India were handed a 8-wicket defeat by Australia in the opening match of the series.

How Shami got injured during the second innings ?

Shami suffered a nasty blow as Pat Cummins bouncer had hit him on his bowling arm with the bowler getting out retired hurt to end India’s innings at 36. Shami had called on the medical team for a check-up after suffering the blow.

India captain Virat Kohli was asked about Shami’s injury and he said that the pacer was in a lot of pain and has been taken to a hospital for scans.

Speaking at the post match conference, Kohli gave an update on Shami’s injury saying, “No news on Shami, he’s going for a scan now. Was in a lot of pain, couldn’t even lift his arm. We’ll probably know in the evening what happens.”

With the injury, India will now heavily rely on the bowlin prowess of Jasprit Bumrah. The role of Umesh Yadav will become also become very crucial, whereas Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini will also have to step up.

With Ishant Sharma already missing the tour, Shami’s absence would leave India without a very important cog in the wheel. Amid absence of these senior bowlers it will be very difficult for Indian to make a comeback in the series.
