The new hikes see in the rise of the hosting match fees for various trophies like the Vijay Merchant Trophy. Cooch Behar trophy and others. It has been understood that the price has been raised to Rs 1,75,000 from the initial fee of Rs. 1,00,000. BCCI is also giving a raise for the day-night domestic matches owing to the rise in power prices.

This results in the increase of match fees of INR 3,50,000 per match to INR 4,50,000 in a bid to compete with the steadily rising price of the floodlight operations.

Along with the rise in grants, the AGM will also approve the draft of the Women’s IPL. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the sale of the media rights for the WIPL will be circulated.

The AGM is scheduled to take place on 18th October in Mumbai where discussions will mainly be held pertaining to matters related to the ICC. It has been understood that the BCCI is unwilling to provide a candidate to compete for the Chair post of the International Cricket Council.

The last day to file the nominations is 20th October and it is highly unlikely that BCCI is willing to sponsor anyone. Although Sourav Ganguly, the outgoing BCCI president is eligible to compete for the spot, the BCCI is not willing to back the former Indian skipper.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee made an appeal to PM Narendra Modi to help Ganguly compete for the ICC chair spot. She said, “I request the government of India not to make any decision politically but for cricket and sports. Ganguly is not a political party member.”
