BARC Ratings: PKL yet again prevails over live broadcast of India’s Test

Sony Sports Cluster has consolidated its position in the Sports’ Channels Top 5 table for week 51 (December 15 to 21) in the Broadcast Audience Research Council ratings. But Pro Kabaddi continues to dominate the charts for the most watched sports shows for the third successive week.

Live broadcast of the Pro Kabaddi League games has garnered 15%-25% more impressions as the most-watched sports genre shows over the previous week. As the long PKL season heads for the decisive eliminator rounds. That interest is building up with the each passing game is evident from a consistent increase in the live audience for the PKL Games. In spite of the live broadcast of the Adelaide Test between Australia and India, Pro Kabaddi games during the week have figured in the four of the Top 5 programmes slots.

Adelaide Test on Sony Ten 3 is in the fourth position.

In spite of the Pro Kabaddi generating good numbers for Star Sports First, Sony Sports Cluster has strengthened its reach with the Live broadcast of the Adelaide Test getting good support from the other content on Sony Ten 3, Sony Six and Sony Ten 1.

Sony Ten 1 has leap frogged from the fifth position to the third, relegating Star Sports First to the fourth place. 

The battle between PKL and Australia-India LIVE cricket can be intensified in the week between December 21 and 28, that will feature the first three days of Virat Kohli and company’s absolute dominate in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Pro Kabaddi games to decide the qualifying teams for the knockout stage.
