Daniil Medvedev beat Casper Ruud:

World No 2 Daniil Medvedev sailed to the final of ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. In the semifinals, he brushed aside any challenge from Casper Ruud with a straight 6-4, 6-2 victory. He will face the winner of the second semifinal between Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev Live (Sunday, 1:30 am)

  • World No.1 Novak Djokovic will take on Alexander Zverev in the top semifinal clash on Sunday. Both the players have met each other 10 times on tour, with World No.1 leading 7-3.
  • Novak Djokovic is having a great campaign without a losing a single match in group stage. Djokovic kicked off his title quest by defeating Casper Ruud in straight sets. In the following match, he defeated Russia’s Andrey Rublev to secure his semifinal berth. This was followed up with a victory over Cameron Norrie in straight sets. Novak Djokovic hasn’t lost a set yet in ATP year-end tournament.
  • While, Alexander Zverev received a walkover from Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in the opening match due to an abdominal injury. In the following match, Zverev lost to rival Daniil Medvedev in a three-set thriller. In the final round, World No.3 has been able to secure his semifinal berth by defeating Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.
  • Novak Djokovic is aiming for record-equaling sixth ATP Finals title, while Alexander Zverev will eye for his second year-end title.

  • Novak Djokovic can equal Swiss Tennis Maestro Roger Federer for most ATP Finals titles in the history of the tournament. Djokovic is currently tied with Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras.
  • He can become the oldest ATP Finals champion. Federer was 30 years old when he last won the tournament. Djokovic had last won the trophy in 2015.
  • The Serbian legend can win the second most number of matches in ATP Finals. He is only one victory behind Ivan Lendl. The maximum number of wins is achieved by Roger Federer- 59
  • Djokovic can win the ATP Finals in three different decades. He was won the title in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Meanwhile, Federer registered victories in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011.
  • He can win the trophy in three different countries, only the third player after Roger Federer and Ilie Nastase. Federer won the tournament in USA, UK and China. Nastase emerged victorious in France, Spain, USA and Sweden. Djokovic, meanwhile, has won in UK and China. Now he is set to play ATP Finals 2021 in Turin, Italy.
