Coming to their head-to-head clash in the shorter format, India have been a stronger side. India have won six times compared to Pakistan. However, the Men in Green have only won twice.

But when the two teams met in the last shorter format game, it was Pakistan, who emerged victorious. They beat India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup. Citing the same match, Sarfaraz Ahmed believes their morale will be high for their respective first match of the Asia Cup.

“The first match of any tournament sets the tone of the campaign. Our first game is against India. Definitely, our morale would be higher because when we met the last time, Pakistan defeated India at the same venue,” Sarfaraz told Sports Paktv.

This contest can be viewed as a revenge clash for India, which makes the contest even more riveting. Both the teams will be eager to turn their A game on the day. There will be some sort of pressure for players from both the teams to come out and shine in one of the most significant matches in the year.

Sarfaraz added that Pakistan are in a better situation as they know the conditions better than India after having played in the PSL. Indian players are also aware of the conditions in the UAE, but Pakistan, to their credit, have great experience. Pakistan have played many of their home series in UAE.

“Pakistan know the condition very well because we have played PSL here and many home series as well. Yes, India have played in IPL here but they don’t have that much experience of playing in these conditions,” Sarfaraz said.
