All England Open Day 1 Badminton Live: After a disappointing start by the Indian male shuttlers, PV Sindhu cruised to 2nd Round of All England Open Badminton Championships. Sindhu defeated Soniia Cheah of Malaysia in the first round. Sindhu won 21-11, 21-17. Earlier both Kidambi Srikanth & Parupali Kashyap crashed out in the 1st round of the tournament.

Other than Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, HS Pranoy, Sameer Verma & Sai Praneet progress to 2nd round of All England Open Badminton championships.
Saina crashes Out: Saina Nehwal was also a big disappointment for India as she retired playing against Mia Blichfeld. Saina lost 1st game 8-21 and was down 4-10 when she decided to throw towel.
Kidambi Srikanth & Parupali Kashyap crashes out: Bad news is coming in for India from All England Open Badminton Championships. India’s P.Kashyap has lost in the opening round to top seed Kento Momota in straight sets. Kashyap lost 21-13, 22-20.
More shocking was the loss of 8th seed Kidambi Srikanth. Top Indian shuttler lost to Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen 21-11, 15-21, 21-12 in the first round.
PV Sindhu enters 2nd round: Sindhu faced little trouble in defeating Cheah and was at her dominant best as she won in straight sets. Sindhu has a golden chance to bag gold in a depleted women’s single pool. Spain’s Carolin Marin and Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying withdrew from the tournament, which means, Sindhu will have to overcome Japan’s Nozomi Okohuro and Akane Yamaguchi to finish at the top of the podium.
Ashwini Bhat, Shikha Gautam defeated: Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam crash out of the tournament after facing defeat against Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith after losing in straight sets. They lost this round 21-14 and 21-11. A total of 67 points were played out of which the English team won 42 points and the Indian team won 25.
