Emirati Women’s day will be celebrated this Sunday when the Abaya Rally will be held. Women breaking stereotypes will feature in this unique race. The Abaya Rally was first held in 2020. It is estimated that car enthusiasts, future engineers, athletes, singers, actresses, social media influencers along with other talented individuals will take part in this race. Other events that will also feature the abaya fashion show, a red carpet, and panel discussions.
The event will end with an award ceremony where women who have achieved remarkable things by breaking generic stereotypes will be honored. These events will take place at the Al Raha Beach Hotel.

“If you can dream it, you can do it”, said Dr Suaad Al Shamsi, the UAE’s first female Emirati Aircraft Engineer. “If you can do it, you can achieve it and you will succeed in it. Just follow your dreams and believe.”
The sole purpose of this event is to celebrate the different challenges that women face in order to achieve the things that they want. “Abaya Rally brings together women from different walks of life to show that they can have all the fun as well as drive forward more empowered, stronger, and more successful, towards a more sustainable world,” said Dr Walaa Ahmed Al Shehhi, a multitalented electrical engineer, writer, and life coach.
“As a woman, you are the power of now, and you hold the secret to creating the impossible. You are the key to everything possible.”
