5 UFC Fighters with the Potential to Surpass Stardom of Conor McGregor

Israel Adesanya, the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion, is leading the next generation of MMA superstars. With a record of 24-2, Adesanya has already headlined more UFC pay-per-view events than McGregor, demonstrating his skill, popularity, and box office appeal. Like McGregor, Adesanya is known for his quick wit, charisma, and exciting fighting style.

After recently reclaiming his title against Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya’s star power is shining brighter than ever as he got the perfect hero’s arc story where he shone after defeat. If he continues his winning ways, “The Last Stylebender” can cement himself as an all-time legend and surpass McGregor as the UFC’s biggest star.

UFC Stars: Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev is another fast-rising star poised for superstardom. With an unblemished 12-0 record, Chimaev has torn through the welterweight division and shown flashes of once-in-a-generation talent. His charismatic and confident personality has also made him a fan favorite.

And let’s not overlook the incredible record of Khamzat in his 12 matches, where he has emerged victorious with finishers every single one except for one match. His impressive tally of 6 KO/TKO wins and 5 submission victories only adds to his already dangerous reputation.

If Khamzat manages to maintain his rise up in the rankings and eventually earns himself a title shot, there’s no doubt that he will become a major sensation and pay-per-view draw for the UFC. In fact, it’s entirely possible that he could reach the level of fame and adulation that McGregor has achieved.

Sean O’Malley

The flashy and flamboyant Sean O’Malley is a bantamweight contender who oozes superstar potential. With his exciting fighting style, unique look, and outgoing personality, O’Malley has already built a large following at just 27 years old.

His record of 16-1 includes many highlight-reel finishes and Fight of the Night performances. So there is no reason why O’Malley can’t become a major star and possibly the next McGregor.

Islam Makhachev has potential to become next Conor McGregor

Islam Makhachev, protégé of UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, is quickly becoming a force in the lightweight division. With a record of 24-1, Makhachev has lost only once in his career and is currently riding an impressive 12-fight win streak. Like his coach Khabib, Makhachev is poised and stoic, letting his elite grappling and ground control do the talking.

If Makhachev can secure a grudge match or heated rivalry like Khabib vs. McGregor, he can gain mainstream fame and become an even bigger superstar, poised to reach the same heights as his notorious opponent.

Alexander Volkanovski

Alexander Volkanovski, the current UFC Featherweight Champion, is one of the most dominant and well-rounded fighters in the promotion. With a record of 25-2, Volkanovski had an incredible 22-fight win streak where he defended his title four times. But his winning streak came to an end at UFC 284 against Islam Makhachev.

While not as flashy or controversial as McGregor, Volkanovski’s elite skills, championship success, and reputation as “the great” can propel him to superstardom with his long reign over the featherweight division. With more title defenses and exposure, Volkanovski can solidify himself as one of the UFC’s biggest stars. Although he failed to claim 2 titles like McGregor he still has opportunities to do so.
